Handmade in Slovakia
The Novesta factory has been making running shoes for decades. In the 1980's, a sports shoe was developed for the first time that came very close to the current form of MARATHON. The original base of today's shape was designed for the 1988 Czechoslovak Olympic team. The development team in Partizanske realized the marathon for walkers and long-distance runners with the help of the walker Jozef Pribilinec, who won the first gold medal for the Czechoslovak team at the 1988 Seoul Olympics with the marathon.
